If you're here, you probably aren't looking for platitudes; you're in the right place. This isn't a self-help site. There's no formula here.
I write essays on surviving trauma, rebuilding a life from scratch, and my nerdy pop culture obsessions that make it all bearable. Some of it's sharp, some of it's (hopefully) funny, but all of it is 100% honest.
They are more than just stories; they're proof that reinvention is possible, survival can be beautiful, and that we're not nearly as alone in our feelings as we've been led to believe.
There's no set schedule beyond "when I have something to say." It's usually Thursdays, sometimes more.
Who I Am
I'm Heather.
I spent a long time ghostwriting other people's stories and keeping mine to myself. Now, this is where I finally say the things I never said without trying to spin them into a neat little life lesson.
I write the kind of pieces I wish I'd had when I needed them.
If they make you feel a little more seen (or at least a little less weird), then it's worth it.
